Eagles Thanksgiving Day Game
Thu, November 27, 2008
What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year than with Eagles football. Now when you suffer through the Dallas and Detroit games, you'll have something to look forward to. Your Philadelphia Eagles are hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 27 at 8:00 p.m., which will be broadcast locally on 6abc. For fans outside of the Philadelphia market, the game will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
The Eagles will be wearing their alternate black jerseys against the Cardinals, and all fans attending the game should wear their black jerseys and gear in support of the Thanksgiving Day Blackout, which will show the national television audience what kind of fan support Philadelphia gives its teams. Be sure to take advantage of our free shipping offer on all black jerseys now through November 19th at the Pro Shop.
Prior to kickoff, fans are also encouraged to pack some extra cans of food for their tailgate to benefit our annual Eagles Wives Association and 6abc Food Drive. The Eagles players' and coaches' wives, along with volunteers from Philabundance, will be at each stadium entrance collecting canned goods and cash donations from fans as they enter. All food and cash collected during the drive will go to Philabundance to help feed those in need here in the Philadelphia area.
And finally, as part of the NFL's league-wide Play 60 youth fitness program that's kicking off on Thanksgiving, the Eagles are featuring a variety of educational messages from Eagles players and youth football players on how our youngsters can be more active and play a sport for at least 60 minutes a day.

BrianS is calling a “The team is in last place I’ll wear whatever the **** I want”
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Plus, during night games I have to worry way more about warmth than wardrobe. My Eagles winter coat is mostly green.

lol
I’m supposed to be going, but the ticket situation is a little up in the air w/a few friends. But if we do go, we’ll probably take the BSL down and be the ones running to our seats right at the opening kickoff, since we’ll be arriving from thanksgiving much closer to gametime than I prefer to get to a game.
But, if I go, I’ll try not to wreck anything.

I’m going. But like BrianS, my Eagles coat is green. I’m dressing for warmth.
Kind of a bad idea to have the “blackout” when it will probably be a cold weather game at night and people will need to wear a warm coat. This would work better on a Monday Night game at the beginning of the season when it’s easier to break out a black T-shirt for the occassion.
