Glass Half Full
Before I get to the point of simply rooting for the big plays, big hits, and spoilers.... I'm going to think back to last year and cross my fingers. (See below.) Personally, Im not ready to throw in the towel yet, even though I happen to agree with a lot of the harsh comments out there. And I know that 99% of you on this site will also root for the Birds regardless of their record. Hell - I still wear the Eagles jersey I bought when they were 3-13. (Charlie Garner by the way)
My (perhaps warped) logic: Last year, the Vagiants lost their 1st game 45-35 to the Cowboys. They also incurred injuries to Umenyiora, Jacobs, and Eli. Eli separated his shoulder during the game, and the NYG defense was horrible. Then the next week at Green Bay wasnt that much better. Bad penalties and 21 unanswered points by the Packers made the Vagiants 0-2 for the first time in over a decade. People were calling for Coughlin's head, questioning Eli, and calling the team the most dysfunctional team in the league.
And we all know how they finished the season.
So my question is: "Right now, are we better than what they were, at this point last year?"
I hope so.

Dude, first of all let me say that thinking season is over does not equal not rooting for the birds.
My glass is also half full…it is just half full of rum.
Time's yours, Andy.

Thanks
Yeah you’re right. We can (will) still root for them even if we think its over. Who knows.
But I’ll be ready to pounce on other non-Iggles fans who say the same…

The problem is the history
As I posted on another thread, the Eagles are 26 and 26 (.500) since the Superbowl. AR has demonstrated an almost serial inability to get this team to play up to their potential. I don’t see that changing, especially when we still have four division games left. I see us as 8-8, beating up on a few weak sisters and getting bitch-slapped by more inspired teams.

yeah and that was insane
Remember that awesome end to the SD game in 05? As disappointing as that season was, Q blocking the punt and matt ware taking it to the house was awesome

Merrill: THE KICK IS BLOCKED THE KICK IS BLOCKED MATT WARE IS RUNNING WITH THE FOOTBALL MATT WARE!
Mike Quick: WOOO!
Time's yours, Andy.

My favorite merrillisms...
1) “Intercepted… running with the football, Lito Sheppard”
2) “They stopped them again!”
3) anytime he’s ever yelled ’IT’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD"
Sadly, we never hear the third one anymore

This sucks even more because...
Carolina is really good and their first round pick which we have is not going to be a top-10 pick like I had hoped…

yeah but the way things are going, our pick might be around 10ish
