Congrats Phillies! It is well deserved.
For all the criticism Gillick and Manuel have taken over the past couple of years, they ultimately became the Gold Standard of professional sports in Philadelphia.
I have to believe this will make Lurie and Banner have a pang of jealousy and make them want it even more. The question is, what kind of pressure does this put on the Eagles to step it up to truly become the “Gold Standard” and how do they react to that pressure?

I love me some Eagles, but boy am I pooping my self with joy today. I can’t containe the emotion.
I am only 30 and was 5 years old in 1980. Therefore, this is my first one I can celebrate with out having drool and pampers on.
