Desean all day. I doubted his hustle a little bit, Until that play last night when 90% of the receivers in the league wouldn’t have made it in for a td on that direct snap against the giants last night.

desean jackson is better than donnie avery

i read that post over there funny how they ignored the fact you pointed out about that MR,JACKSON has two touchdowns one on special teams , i think the only reason AVERY has got as much playing time as he has is because the injuries sidelining w.r Drew Bennett and Keenan Burton. i guess you could say the same about the eagles recievers being out but we still had AVANT,BASKETT,LEWIS. and AVERY was injured alot ,Avery suffered a slight fracture of the pelvic bone on July 28, just his third day of training camp He missed the next two weeks of camp, as well as the first two preseason games.he played against baltimore but then just five days later suffered a sprained right knee early in the second quarter,He missed the next week of practice, sat out the opener in Philadelphia, and was in for just a handful of plays in Game 2 against the New York Giants.he has played more since but The lost time due to injury has made the learning curve much steeper, where JACKSON has more of a natural talent that you just cant teach. throw in some jerry rice teaching and picking up the eagles plays as quickly as he did oh and not to mention his awesome special teams skills,Jackson’s return game has been nothing short of outstanding. At his current pace, he could break Fred Barnett’s franchise rookie receiving record .stats dont lie -avery 174 yds -jackson-433 yds .jacksons better-
Jackson’s 433 receiving yards put him on pace for 1,308, a figure that’s been surpassed by only two players in Eagles history – Mike Quick in 1983 and Irving Fryar in 1997 – and by only three rookies in NFL history – Bill Groman of the Oilers in 1960, Randy Moss in 1998 with the Vikings and Anquan Boldin of the Cardinals in 2003. JACKSON -is better

i was about to jump off of wachovia center but one of akers’ kicks smacked me right in the face and knocked me backwards…

be nice……
take 433 and devide it by the 6 games he played….. thats about 72 yards
now take that number and multiply that by 16(for those who aren’t familure with the NFL thats the amount of games we play) and that equals…..about 1154 yards

in order for desean jackson to get 1308 yeards he would have to play abou 18 games in a 16 game season….. he is good but no one has ever played 18 games in a regular season. not even bret farve

After drafing D-Jax and looking at him compared to the rest it looks like we didnt miss out on much.-
come on you like jackson to , the wr stats in that post were cool to – i didnt realize ocho cinco, and randy moss were that far behind jackson . on to the falcons – battle of the birds – go eagles

hey i am an eagles fan trough and trough and have been waiting ever since irving fryer for us to draft a reciver who could be a threat and jackson is our man. he is clearly better

by NickPampani on Oct 25, 2008 11:03 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Desean is much better at this point. The speed at which he has grasped a complicated offense is impressive, to say nothing of his natural feel for the game and blazing speed. Considering his position and the offense he plays in, I will go as far as to say he is the best offensive rookie thus far.

Regarding the math though, 1155 is correct. DJ played in 6 games and has 433 yards. 433/6 = 72.16

72.2 * 16 = 1155.2

actually that 1308 yard stat i got from an article by PhillyBurbs.com columnist Reuben Frank , dont know how he came up with it ??? – Who is the better rookie WR? Desean Jackson or Donnie Avery?
i still think its jackson, but i guess well have to wait and see

I factored in his 50 rushing yards and 253 PR yards over the 1st 6 games. (He has 1 KR for 12 yards, which I did not bother to include)

His total yard projection over 16 games is 1963 yards. DJ is pretty good.

by captain nodar on Oct 23, 2008 7:05 PM EDT   0 recs

Jackson is better but the article you’re referring to is probably a few weeks old, before Jackson became inexplicably less involved with the offense. Also, “on pace” stats are a ****ing stupid supporting argument.

Anyways, I think the argument for best rookie WR should be between Jackson and Eddie Royal, with Jackson narrowly beating out Royal because Jackson has been a little more consistent (at least in my opinion). As far as ALL rookies are concerned, the best two are Matt Forte and Chris Johnson, who blow everyone else out of the water.

Through 4 games, Jackson had 327 yards receiving, which would’ve put him on pace for 1308 yards, which just goes to prove my point: Projections are stupid.

that makes sense , projections are stupid cause we dont know how much playing time hes going to get from week to week , i think my heads going to explode, is it just me or does it seem like were stuck in this post like jail, come on we have to bust out of here before the game starts tomorrow-iam out – peace – go eagles

i think Chris Johnson is by far better the best rookie in the nfl right now…

by Remis on Oct 25, 2008 2:37 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I didn’t get a chance to look at it until now, but yeah, I’d definitely have to agree with Johnson as being the best rookie. He’s had more big plays, 0 fumbles, and he’s averaging 5.3 yards a carry as opposed to Forte’s 3.5. Also, he’s by far the sickest last round pick I’ve ever had in fantasy football.

I took Desean as my last pick on my fantasy team and he is doing better weekly then T.O.

I love watching the cowgirls suffer!

Donnie Avery definitely made an argument for himself last night.

avery gets the benifit of holt being doubled. and to add to the argument eddie Royal of the broncos gets it easier than desean because he lines up on the other side of marshall. Curtis Brown and baskett dont see doubles like Holt and Marshall do. DeSean is the guy here Royal and Avery arn’t the best recievers on there teams

by agj88 on Oct 29, 2008 2:11 AM EDT   0 recs

you got it right and yet Deseans numbers are comperable or better then those 2
