Sorry!

Its from philly.com, but I can’t find a large image of it. I can’t imagine why not.

J-Roll, First Class!

Seeing Jimmy Rollins pose for that photo reminds me of when I took my son to his first MLB game- Phillies/D-Backs in Phoenix in ’06.

We got there early with our brand new Phillies hats and waited during BP to get the hats signed by as many players as we could. Regrettably, we only got two signatures, David Dellucci and Jimmy. Both were very nice, but I’ll never forget how J-Roll actually made it a point to engage my son (then not quite 5) in a conversation. My son was clueless, but I stood there in awe and admiration. Every time I see him in those Boys & Girls Club commercials, I think to myself “That’s how he is in real life!”

Phour more, Phightin’s!

awesome story … this entire team is full of class acts. You can’t help but love these guys. Even the widely hated Victorino (who just flat out plays hard) giving Furcal some words of encouragement after his errors.

LOL

Get somebody (not Pacman Jones, please) to give them smoking lessons before the World Series.

Time's yours, Andy.

I hate you guys.

(Just kidding about the “hate you guys” part. go phils)

Time's yours, Andy.

As an AL East guy I would imagine that you’d be pulling for the Phils over either Tampa or Boston?

by JasonB on Oct 16, 2008 11:58 AM EDT up reply actions

Or he could be rooting for the Rays to give the Phillies the AL East World Series Collection. The Phillies have lost the World Series to the Red Sox, Yankees, Orioles, and Blue Jays… Loosing to the Rays would give them the entire collectible glass set…

I’m rooting for the Phillies, either way.

1) I despise the Red Sox

2) It annoys me that Tampa got so good so quickly and the O’s still suck (though I’m more mad at Peter Angelos about that than the Rays, of course)

But basically,

3) My wife (from South NJ) is a huge Phillies fan and I want to keep my nuts.

I think Tampa’s the tougher matchup, but I think the Phillies can certainly play with either one.

Time's yours, Andy.

I was at this game last night...

As much as I am O’s fan, I have to root for the Phillies here since I grew up in the Philly suburbs

I got 2 tickets on stubhub to take my wife to NLCS game 1, which was on her birthday. (She’s taken me to a couple O’s games on mine, which is in August, and always complains that she can never go to a Phillies game on her birthday. If I missed this one, El Divorcio)

Good time.

NLDS Game 1, which we also attended, was not as much fun, since I in my infinite wisdom decided to wear shorts and a t-shirt and then it was freezing and rainy during the game.

Cool that you went in LA — I’ve always heard how nice Dodger stadium is, but had never heard how nasty their fans were until this week.

Time's yours, Andy.

I've been to numerous Dodgers games

granted, I’ve never had a rooting interest in the game, ya know, just going to enjoy a ball game, but the behavior of these fans were awful.

Only later did I find out that one LA fan suggested that they rape my girlfriend (i am NOT making this shit up)

+1 for funny

-1 that you brought it up

I’m assuming that was meant for me… just jokin around a bit… since we’ve got lots of time to kill here… no football for a week and a half and no baseball for a week… ugh

i may have to spend time with the woman… the NLDS and NLCS gave me good reasons to sweep her under the rug for a few nights a week…
