Seriously...  Please stop.  Look, let's take into account that we just played the Steelers and Bears; two teams that should run the ball alot.  Of course we're not going to get into 5 and 6 DB sets as often as we would against the Cowboys or another team that is more pass heavy.  Okay, taking all of that into consideration, Lito does have a point in saying that we should have all of our best players on the field at the same time.  I know that Considine has seen decreased defensive snaps since the Dallas game (thank god), but that still doesn't change the fact that Mikell has some flaws in his coverage ability at this point (although they are improving) and Dawkins doesn't have the coverage ability that he used to (he's still better than most other safties though).  It wouldn't hurt to rotate Brown into Dawkins' or Mikell's spot for more short yardage passing downs.  3rd and 4 or 3rd and 5 lend themselves to passing situations, but more than likely they'll be of the 2 WR, 1TE set.  This would be a good place to have Lito and Samuel on the WRs and a combo of Brown/Dawkins or Brown/Mikell at the S positions.  Brown can be responsible for picking up the TE in coverage, and still has the ability to hit and wrap up if it ends up being a run.

Additionally, Lito "estimates" that he's only been on the field for 30% of the defensive snaps this year.  I would assume that it's a bit higher than that.  Can anyone find me some stats to confirm or deny this?

Andrew – can you dig up stats on the % of defensive snaps Lito has seen?

That’d be sweet – I think it’s hard though.
Unless a defensive player is specifically listed in the play by play, it’s real hard to tell who’s on the field without actually reviewing the tape …
That said – if anybody knows where there we can find that information – that’d be sweet info…

yeah

I was thinking the same thing, they’d almost have to be involved in a tackle every time they were on the field. A true test of Andew B, can he surprise us all?

yeah… just knowing what people record and put on the interent though… there may be some website that captures all of that info though… I thought if anyone knew about it, it’d be Andrew.

dont forget though Lito is a situational guy so estamits can easly be made.

He is in on passing situartions so you know 2nd and longs and most 3rd downs he is out.

we know he played most of the game against the Rams and the Cowboys since both those teams are pass heavy.

we know he was ment to comer hester every play hester was out on Offense

and by judging how well our rush defense has been it could be a safe judgement that we play a nickel set more often then years privious since teams can run on us.

What i think is he is hurt that he is not starting and just wants to cry some more. im really tired of him

Im sorry im on lito's side

Lito deserves to play more. He is our 2nd best corner and deserves to play as our 2nd CB. He is a probowl player, sheldon brown is not…sheldon has gotton burned tons of times already this season, in the dallas game especially. Sheldon is way better in the slot anyway…Lito should be our 2nd CB.

Romo is a Homo

well then maybe he should prove it with the time he has on the field and he will see more… it’s a good thing Devin Hester can’t catch for shit because he walked right by Sheppard… when he’s on the field he looks as if he could care less… look it comes down to this… he’s being challenged, and instead of keeping his head straight, his mouth SHUT, and taking advantage of the time he does see, he’s acting like a jackass, running his mouth to anyone with a camera, tape recorderd, pen/paper, laptop, fucking telegraph, or who is fluent in cave paintings… And when he does see the field, he hasn’t shown anything to prove that he should see more time…

I agree that he should be on the field as much as possible, because I know the ability he has. but if he looks like hammered shit when he’s out there, how do you fault the coaches for not playing him more???

and don’t give me the arguement that he hasn’t shown anything because he hasn’t been given the opportunity… Sean fucking Considine has better stats than Sheppard… He hasn’t seen a god damn defensive snap the past two games…

on top of all that

lito is on the feild in clear passing situations meaning……. we know how the play is most likely goingto work. the QB will take a drop and throw the ball. lito does not need to play run support so all he has to do isstay on his man (which he couldnt do against hester) or cover his zone. and is it just me or has lito not knocked down one pass orintercept yet when every play he is out there he knows they are throwing the ball

his stats for the season are 7 solo tacks. 0 assisted 0 passes defended 0 forced fumbles 0 recovered fumbles 0 ints.

pro-bowl shit right there

all in all

i have seen 3 DBs step up and they are Dawkins, Samuel and Q not brwn or lito so in my mind that 2nd corner is up for grabbs.

however brown has laid some AMAZING hits so he has that spot

WHY DONT YOU CONTRIBUTE FIRST LITO
