Around SBN: The Big Twelve's passing offenses are overrated Bar-right-arrows

I am me

I've decided to start posting under my actual name rather than the moniker "Bleed Green" anymore. My name is Jason which is something anyone that listens to the BGN Live podcast already knows... I never made any secret of my actual name and just figured it was time to go as myself rather just the anonymous fan who bleeds green...

I'm down with that...
although I will be honest, BleedGreen is a pretty badass name.

I'm Me
Andrew is really Andrew.

I'm an engineer, lifelong Philadelphian born and raised in the city except for a few years here and there spent away from town in Wisconsin and Boston.  Eagles fan since 1980 at age 6, can remember watching the 1980 NFC Championship and Super Bowl with the whole neighborhood at a block party and the 1988 Fog Bowl at home as my remaining earliest memories of Eagles fandom.  Cheered on Randall, Reggie, Jerome and the rest of the Buddy Ryan crew.  Remember thinking "we'll get 'em next year" when Randall went down in 1991, then being crushed by the death of Jerome Brown in 1992 and the reemergence from the primordial slime of Texas of the Cowgirls.  I've only ever gotten to see one Eagles game in person - preseason in 1998 @ the Patriots (a soul-crushing loss, of course).

Me Too
Tom is the name.

Born in South Philadelphia on Trinity St. not far from the airport.  Been an Eagles fan for as long as I can remember.  Over the past 5 or 6 years though, I have become a seething Eagles fan.  Got to see my first game at the Linc a couple weeks ago against the Bills.

Best Eagles Moment: I was in the Neshaminy Highschool Marching band and got to sit on the field towards the end of the second quarter to the right of the Eagles bench (we were playing as the halftime show at The Vet).  At the end of the quarter the Eagles punted the ball and it came down on my buddy's head.  I can't remember the punter at the time, but he was nice enough to come over after the play and see if we were alright.  I didn't care if my buddy was injured, I was just excited to be that close to a game ball.

I'm a chemist and I work in Washington, DC.

P.S. I hate the redskins coverage, but at least I'm in an NFC East town.

I'm Denver
Yeah, thats my real name. I've lived in South Central PA my whole life and in my area its a real crossroads between the steelers, eagles, redskins and ravens. My father is a diehard cowboys fan which absolutely kills me! I've always been an eagles fan, originally because green was my favorite color growing up, but later because i loved following a local team.

My first eagles memory (I'm only 23) was 1990 I think... the Giants were on fire and I remember vividly the eagles beating them and the dance that Byron Evans did in the Endzone after picking off phil simms!

I try to make it to the linc once a year...

My favorite eagles moments would include, Lito's pick against dallas, the entire 04 season, and the 4th and 1 stand in 1995

If a friend of mine introduced me to a complete stranger, It'd probably be something like this - This is Denver, he's an insane Eagles fan.

I like it that way

My name is Brian and I'm an Eagleholic
Unlike many die-hard Eagles fans (but like Denver, apparently), I don't come from a long line of die-hard Eagles fans, or even NFL fans.  My family is all pretty big PSU football fans, but my grandfather, dad, were pretty indifferent to the NFL.

But anyway, I grew up in York County, which is quite a bit closer to Baltimore than it is to Philly.  It's kind of a no-man's land with a mix of Ravens, Eagles, and Steelers fans.  I was a huge Orioles fan since I've been 3 years old and I probably owe my being an Eagles fan to the Irsay family, who moved the Colts to Indianapolis before I'd really gotten attached to them.

Without a Baltimore team to root for, I think I started rooting for the Eagles mostly just because they were the team I was seeing on TV every week, since I didn't really connect Philly with being "local" when I was little -- it seemed really far away (it's about 2 hours).

It didn't hurt that I really liked their uniforms, and how fun Randall and the Buddy Ryan defense were to watch.  I know I was watching games prior to it, but the Fog Bowl is the earliest Eagles game I specifically remember watching.

I really started following the NFL more closely while I was in high school from 91-95.  It was during this time that I discovered the bandwagon cowboy fans.  Although York County is, as I said, mostly Eagles, Ravens, and Steelers fans, I think, I also refer to it as "The land of bandwagon idiots."  I see a ton of Yankees and Red Sox hats everywhwere, and there was quite a Packers bandwagon, and a Cowboys bandwagon, and now I'm seeing entirely too many jerks in Patriots jerseys.  You've been a Pats fan since the 80's?  Sure, buddy, sure you have.

In college and a couple years after, I was around mostly Eagles fans, and that was a lot of fun.  Now I'm back in York County, defending the western flank of Eagles Country.

2007 Philadelphia Eagles -- Thanks for the terrible memories!

My Name is Joe and I Bleed Green
I've been an Eagles fan since the late 70s when I was a kid.  One of my earliest sports memories was the Eagles playoff loss to the Falcons (DAMN YOU TO HELL STEVE BARTKOWSKI!!).  We blew a 13-0 4th qtr lead and lost 14-13 essentially because of a missed extra point in the first half!  The heartbreak goes back 30 years for me.

My dad used to take me to games in the late 70's early 80's and we'd sit in the 700 Level of course.  (That was quite an education for a young boy!) Eagles-Cowboys games were absolutely nuts back then.  I vividly recall wildly cheering when Tony Dorsett got hurt one game and I witnessed Cowboys fans getting beaten to a bloody pulp in the stands.  Good times!

I was at the 1991 Eagles-Jets game in the Meadowlands where Randall Cunningham went down for the season with an injury (also a memorable Eric Allen INT TD return that game).  Definitely not good times.

I grew up in Philly, but currently live in Tokyo, Japan.  At least I get to watch all the Eagles games on the internet (hurray for NFL Gamepass on Yahoo - too bad you can only get it outside of the USA).

Favorite Eagles: Harold Carmichael, Reggie White, Randall Cunningham, Anthony Toney, Andre Waters, and Donovan McNabb.

Tremendous site you have here, Jason.  Keep up the good work!

On the very edge of the middle of nowhere.
My wife used to work in hanover, and her company did a fundraiser in Chambersburg once.  I hadn't realized how far away from everything (everything that is familiar to xenophobic york countians like myself, anyway) it was!
