Eagles win 56-21!

Who were those guys in Blue and Yellow today? It certianly wasn't the same Eagles offense that showed up in weeks one & two. They hang 56 on the Lions, set a team record for the most points in a half, didn't punt until the 3rd quarter, and racked up 536 yards of total offense.

This is the most points the Eagles offense have scored since they put 58 on who? That would be these same Detriot Lions in the 1995 playoffs.

The Rumors of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

Welcome back #5. If McNabb set out to fix his accuracy from last to week to this week, I'd say he was fairly successful. He completed over 80% of his passes on route to a 381 yard, 4 touchdown day. With his back against the wall to a degree he may have never seen in his career, McNabb responded with perhaps the greatest game of his pro career.

Welcome to Philadelphia Kevin Curtis

Curtis tied an NFL record for recieving yards in the first half with 205. He finished the game with 11 rec for 222 yards and 3 TDs. It was the greatest game by an Eagles WR since Tommy McDonald caught 7 balls for 237 yards against the Giants in 1961.

Don't forget B-West!

Is it possible for two offensive players to have the kind of games McNabb and Curtis had and still arguably not be the best offensive players on the team? Yeah.

Westbrook's line? 221 total yards, 110 rushing, 111 receiving. He ran for 7.9 yards a carry & caught 5 balls. Oh and don't forget THREE touchdowns.

There's pressuring the QB, and then there's what the Eagles did to Kitna today

Count em, nine sacks from this Eagles D today and the pressure came almost exclusively from the front four. Four sacks for Trent Cole, 2 for Broderick Bunkley, and 2 from the best left defensive end on the Eagles... Juqua Thomas. They held Detriot to 4-14 on 3rd down and 39 yards rushing. I understand the Lions had to throw, but holding a team to 39 yards rushing is impressive. They gave up some big plays to Roy Williams in particular, but all in all it was another fantastic performance from this Eagles' D. This was the top passing attack in the NFL coming into this week.

All in all, thank you Eagles and welcome back! Oh and the uniforms? Still bad.

Same uni's next week
The Eagles team colors are now blue and yellow.  Get used to it.

The defense has been a pleasant surprise through the first three games. At this point they've answered a lot of questions. Except for B.Dawk's health.

The offense, on the other hand... I'm not sure what I'm seeing. Are the Lions really that bad? Are Green Bay and Washington that good? Or did we just get the first look at a Donovan McNabb who no longer needs to wear the brace?

B-Dawk
Certainly we want #20 back there... but how great was Quintin Mikell today?

Perfect Game
McNabb posted a 158.3 passer rating. That's right, ladies and gentleman, a perfect passer rating. How's that work for everyone out there talking trash on McNabb?

Let's Hear it for the Linebackers!
Thought to be the weak link coming into the season, they were the lone bright spot in weeks one and two. And another great showing today!

Game Balls All Around...
...although I think Brian Westbrook must have had the quietest 200+ yards from scrimmage we've seen in a long time.  All over the highlights we see the bombs to Curtis and the many sacks.

Tomorrow will be a great day to be a fellow alumnus of B-West, especially since the Redskins blew a 17-3 lead to the Giants.

BWest
The man is just a big play waiting to happen.  Give him the ball and next thing you know he's 15-20 yards downfield.

Kearse
agree with the best left defensive end statement about Thomas where has The Freak gone and will Victor Abiamiri become part of the active roster soon to see what he's got. McNabb isn't gone next year but the Freak is!

They Should have cut him...
before the start of the season now they have to pay him.
GCobb called it a long time ago.
The guy was to busy partying like a hip hop star in the offseason to bother getting in shape. He is so overpaid its ridiculous.
I'm not sure he's worth 1 mil let alone 7.

No better time to give Abiamiri a shot. Kearse and Howard are both invisible. Oh wait, that would mean an eagles rookie actually got in the game.

I thought Darren Howard had a decent game
He batted down a couple of passes and had good pressure.

Berman
Did anyone hear Berman use the "rumors of my demise" line about the Eagles last night?
