Ex Eagles LBs can't get a job
This really speaks volumes about the level of play of this teams' linebackers last year.
Dhani Jones was cut by the New Orleans Saints today. Last week Jeremiah Trotter got a workout with the Bucs but was not offered a contract(not yet at least). That's two thirds of the Eagles' starting linebacker corps a opening day of last year out of a job and possibly out of the NFL this year. The final member of that starting crew was Matt McCoy who was benched halfway through the year and is currently hanging on the team as a backup and special teams player.
So while there are concerns about this year's linebacking corps, could they be any worse than last year?

The only guys still playing are Shawn Barber and Mark Simoneau.
Just goes to show you how unimportant linebacking actually is for the Jim Johnson scheme considering that the Eagles managed to win all those games since 2002 with these guys in the middle of the defense.
Are you 6'-3" and 240 lbs? Can you run a 4.7 40? You too could probably play linebacker for the Eagles.
