[editor's note, by BleedGreen] promoted from diaries

There are a few interesting pieces in today's Inqy and DN, so I thought I would put up a link or two or three. As more shocking evidence of the national decline in editorial standards, there is not a single Jeremy Bloom puff piece in today's locals.

Instead we have to make do with A.J. Feeley. I know, I know, all the buzz is about Kevin Kolb, but Sam Donellon points out that Feeley is still a young guy at 30. If #5 can't go - which looks less likely after he practiced multiple days in a row at minicamp - it's going to be Feeley stepping in.

But wait, there's more...

For one thing, the Eagles have a problem on the offensive line that the rest of the league would love to have.  "With the old guys looking spry, this is a ridiculously deep offensive line, easily the team's most well-stocked grouping." I love this because of the consistency. Last year the O-line stayed together all season. If only the team decides to run the ball a little more often, they've got the right crew to make it work, and enough of them to rotate in and stay fresh. Here's looking forward to another great year for Brian Westbrook.

Right now it looks like Sean Considine is coming in at 217 pounds, which is a definite improvement over his playing weight last year (by 20 pounds or so) and probably going to be a help at safety.

Oh, and the Inqy is also speculating that - maybe - the Luries bought a mansion on the Main Line. Something about having room for "10 football fields, with endzones." And a 3-hole golf course. Sweet. Or maybe not, since the records aren't clear and nobody's admitting or denying. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
