Agent: Corey Dillon wants to play for the Eagles | Interest mutual?

Update [2007-3-4 15:23:34 by BleedGreen]: It looks like the Eagles may be interested in Dillon says Scout.com's Adam Caplan.

vWith veteran RB Correll Buckhalter remaining unsigned, the Philadelphia Eagles are clearly in the market for a free agent back. Philadelphia has shown interest in free agent RBs Sammy Morris and Corey Dillon according to a league source.

With Buckhalter a free agent and Ryan Moats seemingly out of favor the Eagles are in need of a back to spell Westbrook. Certianly most Eagles fans would like that guy to a big bruiser to pound out short yardage and grind down opposing defenses... It seems like Corey Dillon would like to do just that for the Eagles

Meanwhile, the agent for running back Corey Dillon has narrowed the list of teams he's interested to Baltimore, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets.

Currently the Ravens are trying to bring back Jamal Lewis. If they bring him back, that would basically take Baltimore out of the running. The question now is what, if any interest the Eagles would have in Dillon? Assuming he doesn't want a monster deal, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't at least bring the guy in for a meeting. I think everyone would admit that he's a better player than Buckhalter, Moats, Mahe, Perry or anything else the Eagles have a RB outside of Westbrook. Not to mention that Dillon would be the best insurance for a possible Westbrook injury that the Eagles have ever had.

Not to mention
that with Dillon, definitely an above-average back, Marty would be even more inclined to stay with the running game in his play-calling, and that's a good thing.  If they can sign him without throwing a whole lot of cash at him, I say do it.

That was my thought
If you lose a #1 WR and pick up basically a #1 back... I would think that means more running. Any reasonable coach would...
