Eagles host Bills open thread

Buffalo Bills @ Philadelphia Eagles
Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia, PA
Time: 1:00pm
TV: CBS | Radio: 94.1 WYSP, Sirius 125
Uniforms: Green jerseys with White pants

For a Bills perspective check out Buffalo Rumblings.

Fun fact for you... The Bills have won four of the past five games to tie the series at 5-5. The Eagles won the last meeting in 2003.

This is it. No more Eagles football after today. So we might as well enjoy it, get a good look at some young guys, and look for the Birds to end on a winning note. I'll be back later on tonight with some thoughts and headlines.

McNabb
....looks so much more effective when he has the quick release.  These little dink and dunk passes are moving them down the field, and under the quick short passes, he has so many options and weapons.

McNabb
He has to learn to throw the ball away and stop making poor decisions... That's been my problem with him the entire year.

Winston Justice...
he just doesn't seem to get it does he?

Since not much else being discussed....
....what are the top three needs the Eagles have in the offseason?  I think they need to address first and foremost a #1 WR.  Second, they need a quality afety or CB, someone who can fill in when Lito gets hurt or Considine gets dinged.  Last, they need Defensive tackle depth.

Not included in the top three (for me) is legit TE and OT to groom.

Thoughts?

You got it backwards
WR wouldnt be first and foremost IMO... I would look to get another D-lineman, Depth at safety, and then look for a WR.

Thanks Kevin
for all your hard work but we really need Donovan to play the whole meaningless game.

#1 need.
Special teams are overlooked on this team.  Could you say the Eagles won the special teams battle during any game this year?  Going into a game, the best you could hope for was a draw in special teams.  This needs to be fixed.

woulda, shoulda, coulda
It seems to me that this Eagles team is every bit as good as last year's team (probably better) and would have been much more dangerous in the playoffs, particularly given the continued weakness in the NFC.  It's frustrating to think of how few plays stood in the way of getting the one more win that would have put them into the post-season again this year.  Even a Giants win over Washington two weeks ago would have us on the edge of our seats this afternoon.

In terms of needs, I'd put the acquisition of a defensive playmaker at the top of the list.  This seems to be a talented group (and one that has made a number of remarkable goal line stands), but I don't know if there is any one player that you would have to game plan against and I can't remember a game winning play by the defense this entire season.  I would guess that I'm in a small minority here, but I wouldn't mind seeing a change at defensive co-ordinator in the off-season.
