Don't blame Mcnabb
Check out this article on philly.com. It is what I have been saying for the last 3 weeks. I really think some of you fans are just phantics and really don't know anything about the game of football! Do you not remember what happened last year when we had one of the top offenses in the NFL and Mcnabb was playing out of his mind? I think that most of you must have been too drunk to see what he was doing. Dump him and our team will be in the dumps for years. Plus Kevin Kolb isn't a answer to any problem we have. If you think this is the case what happened when he played in the preseason? Ohh he was playing with the 4th stringers and he still looked really green. Now you want to throw him in with the lions????? Is it me or is that just crazy talk?
Too bad Mikkell has to start at SS.... I mean Yeeaya!!

As for McNabb. I said this after the Bear's game. He has this year to prove he can get back to form. We aren't going anywhere this year so if the Eagles want to let him see if he can play himself back into shape then they can do that.
It certainly seems to me that he may have come back before he was ready, but it's also fair to say that he has gotten better. He's still not 100% and I'm not totally sure whether continuing to play him is going to get him to 100%, but that's what's going to happen.
If he gets it together by the time this year is out and is looking even close to pre injury McNabb, I've got no problem at all starting 2008 with him as the QB. Barring injury, he should be as good as ever by the time next year rolls around. That said, he needs to make more strides than he has so far in this first half of the year.

In 2008
On the other hand, if McNabb is healthier and has better adjusted his mechanics, style of play to whatever his new level of health/mobility, and plays very well, I think the Eagles have a chance to make a quick recovery.
Giving McNabb 2008 seems to be the low-risk, high-reward option.

Dear Santa
McNabb has been so much the good soldier, not criticizing his organization or teammates, for so long that it's a surprise when he comes right out and says the obvious truth: he's not the only reason the Eagles are losing games this year. Yes, he could be playing better, but there are so many facets of the game where other players are either losing individual battles, not carrying out their assignment or just plain failing to execute - like dropping passes.
It would make certain radio hosts happy - for a week or two - if the Eagles were to announce McNabb is not coming back next year but it wouldn't make sense from the team's standpoint. He should be back for 2008. Even better would be if Andy Reid can get him some help.
