Prediction: Eagles 17, Redskins 16 - Despite the fact that this Eagles team inspires no confidence in me... I just have an odd hunch about this game, the Skins are only 3 point favorites at home... which means this game is really a pick-em. At 5-3 you'd think the Skins would be favored by more than the automatic 3 at home against a the 3-5 Eagles. The Redskins have struggled the past few games just like we have and they continue to get hit by injury. Their WR corps, who haven't had a TD catch since December 30th, 2006 could be without Santana Moss today as he's been questionable with a heel injury. At the very least, the speedy WR won't be at 100%. He's a gametime decision. I can see Westbrook making a play or two and the defense being pretty solid which could very well be enough to win what I do not expect to be a very pretty game.

As always though, nothing would surprise with this team...

than defensive indifference. Redskins understood that their only chance was to let him score and get the ball back. Eagles DID NOT understand that running time off the clock was more important than scoring there.

take a knee on three straight plays there and then kick a field goal they could have taken the clock down to, what, 40 seconds?

The opposite of the Bears game

Bears game: Defense is respectable most of the day and then chokes in unbelievable fashion at the end.

Today: Defense gets run over all day and then steps up big not once but three times (six stops inside the ten; and stops on two consecutive desperation drives for the Skins).

Strange team.

I disagree with the idea of running time off the clock and kicking a FG... in a perfect world you run the clock down and then punch it in... but if you only settle for a FG and freak TD beats you... i make em go 80 yards and covert the 2 point conversion.

We stole one, but we also stole one last year against the panthers on Monday night and the whole season changed.

We'll be back to .500 next week.

what if westbrook had stopped at the 1 and taken a knee? that would have really stuck it to them because you get to run alot of time off and most likely score a TD as well.

It's fun to discuss this after a W...

And I thought it was a really smart move by the 'skins. Shades of what Denver did to GB in their first Superbowl W.

But weird stuff happens in this league...what if Westbrook takes a knee at the 1 and they can't punch it in. What if there's a fumble. If they settle for 3, Washington can win it with a (very unlikely TD). By scoring quickly, they gave Washington more time to score, but also made it impossible to lose the game in regulation.

When Wesbrook to the screen for the long TD, I was jumping up and down on my couch, only to then realize, "they left too much time on the clock!", since all Washington needed was a FG, then.

I have no problem with Westbrook scoring quickly. Take the sure points vs. the unknown in that situation. If it were a kneel-down situation, that's different.
