Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Philadelphia Eagles 2006 NFC East Champions!

About 8 plays into the game it was all elementary. The Cowboys choked at home against the Lions and the score flashed up on the big screen at the Linc. The  next moment, Andy Reid pulled his starters.

The JV team, led by AJ Feeley went on to beat the Falcons 24-17. Hank Baskett had 7 catches for 177 yards and a TD, Jason Avant had 4 catches and a TD, AJ Feeley had 321 yards and 3 TDs... The young guys just went out and had a good time. The New Years Eve party started very early in Philly.

After an unlikely run the Eagles have finished the year 10-6, NFC East Champions, and as the 3rd seed in the NFC. The team that once had nothing to lose now has a fresh set of expectations. This isn't a rag tag team making desperate run at the playoffs anymore. This is a real contender now.

Next week at 4p, it begins. The Eagles host division rival New York Giants. The storybook that has been the second half of this Eagles season just keeps getting better.

Congrats Eagles on the division title and happy new year to everyone that Bleeds Green!

aaaahhh....
A job well done, and a big sigh of relief.  Relax for one day, then into the trenches again to prepare for another matchup with the Giants.

I love this team!

I voted Dawk in the poll
It's a tough choice because Westbrook has meant so much to this Eagles offense. However, Dawkins is the engine that makes the defense work. The defense that was sputtering in the first half of the season and then Dawkins got those guys on the same page and playing hard again. That's why the Eagles lost so many games in the early going, because the defense couldn't get off the field, and the defensive turnaround is the real reason they won 5 straight after sliding to 5-6. So to me it's Dawkins by a nose.

Lito Sheppard also turned in a great year. He picked, what, like 6 INT's with 1 or 2 for TD's? And that was in a short season because he missed the first 3 or 4 games (and the starters got pulled at the beginning of the Falcons game). Simply amazing.

Although Westbrook is certainly deserving.
