What impact will this have on special teams? Coverage units haven't been up to par this season, although according to the article Short was one of the points leaders in Jim Harbaugh's shadowy scoring system.
Could they pick up someone who could provide better depth on defense? I've seen Keith Adams' name thrown around the EMB quite a bit, although he still plays for the Dolphins as far as I or the Dolphins know, and there's some clamoring for JR Reed and Ed Jasper, too.
Does it mean more playing time for one of our current inactives? Moats? (no way!) Avant?
